Fudge is just one of those recipes where it’s difficult to make it healthy and still get the texture and flavor on point. So instead of offering a lack luster recipe that’s a healthier version, we wanted to offer an easy to make, totally indulgent recipe and provide some tips on enjoying this mouthwatering dessert without going overboard.
This easy fudge recipe will have people convinced you spent hours making it, when in reality, it just requires 3 or 4 ingredients and 10 minutes to prepare! Now, here are a few things to consider when you’re enjoying sweets this season:
If you have diabetes, you’ve probably been told to avoid sugar. And while this can be good advice for overall health, it can sometimes be translated into replacing sugar with other sweeteners. Be aware that sugar alcohols break down to glucose in the bloodstream, which can affect your blood sugar. This is one of the reasons why it is more important to pay attention to the total carbs in food, instead of just the sugar grams.
When you overindulge in sugar alcohols, they can tend to have a laxative effect. So if you’re intending to spend time with your friends and family this holiday (and perhaps not in the bathroom) just make some adjustments to your carb and calorie intake for the day so that you can enjoy this fudge recipe in moderation.
