Low Carb Mocktails

Cheers to a happy and healthy New Year!


Alcohol consumption is one of the easiest ways to rack up tons of carbs! And on holidays like New Year's Eve, it is easy to disregard just how many carbs and calories are in that beer or martini. The following mocktail recipes contain zero alcohol and include ingredients that are simple to pick up from a store or your own kitchen! Diabetes or pre-diabetes shouldn't hold you back from stepping into the New Year as a healthier you!



Citrus Mojito Mocktail


Ingredients:

  • .5 oz lime juice

  • .5 oz agave

  • .5 oz orange juice

  • 4 fresh mint leaves

  • Splash of soda water


Directions:

  1. Muddle the mint along with the lime juice and agave in a glass, add ice and the rest of the ingredients, top with soda water.

  2. Garnish with fresh mint.

Serving Size: 1 glass

Calories: 50

Carbs: 14g



Virgin Paloma


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz lime juice

  • 1 oz grapefruit juice

  • 1 oz agave syrup

  • Healthy pinch of sea salt

Directions:

  1. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.

  2. Strain over ice into a glass and top with soda.

Mango Mule Mocktail


Ingredients:

  • 4-5 slices of Cucumber

  • 1 oz honey

  • 1.5 oz mango puree

  • 1.5 oz fresh lime juice

  • 1.5 oz ginger beer

  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Muddle cucumber and honey syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.

  2. Add the mango puree and lime juice and shake, covered, with ice vigorously for 10 seconds.

  3. Strain into a copper mug.

  4. Top with ginger beer and stir to incorporate.
